This I Know is True:

Actually it's not one Shit-zu but a Team of Shit-zu's that pull him around on a sled even when there's no snow.

I've seen him careening into the Young Ave. St. Deli on his Shit-sled swinging swords and maces and murdering maniacally but righteously like the guy in "Gladiator". Then when the room is moaning and soaking in broken Bud bottles and sluggish pieces of bodies he releases the reins on the little vicious Shit-zu's and they eat all the still-living people. Fucking Sick. Some of them run around humping the bodies when they are full and can't eat any more.

Foley/McDougal Link

In the wake of the Foley scandal and in the interest of full disclosure, McDougal has volunteered to make all his instant messenger chat sessions available to the public.

Here is one I recently had with the big man.

PorkBreakdown: Dude. Do NOT fall victim to that
scent.
NameWithheld: Hey, McDougal. How are you?
How's life on the campaign trail?
PorkBreakdown: Are you listening to me?
NameWithheld: I heard you came down last night.
Sorry I wasn't there.
PorkBreakdown: Yeah. No one was. I kicked in
the wall by the rose bush and climbed through. Had some eggs and
shit.
NameWithheld: Yeah, I saw that when I got back in
town. I think the back door was actually open.
PorkBreakdown: Yeah. I don't mean to imply that I ate some
shit at your house. I actually took a shit. Or left one. Whatever.
NameWithheld:
Yes. We had the plumber out.
Don't sweat it. It did seem odd that you crapped in my kitchen sink
though. The kids were kind of freaked out. We thought the dog had
died.

PorkBreakdown: Yeah. That's what I was talking about
earlier.
NameWithheld:: ??
PorkBreakdown: Dude, your dog's pussy smells like
canteloupe.
PorkBreakdown: Hello?
NameWithheld: I'm sorry, what?
PorkBreakdown: YOu never noticed?
NameWithheld: My dog doesn't have
PorkBreakdown: Listen, you don't have to tell me.
I'm as upset as anyone.
NameWithheld: I doubt that.
PorkBreakdown: No, I'm serious. I don't know where
that smell came from.
NameWithheld: What smell?
PorkBreakdown: THe canteloupe. if it wasn't her
pussy, then oh God.
NameWithheld: Are we talking about the same thing?
PorkBreakdown: Your dog?
NameWithheld: My dog's name is Jack. He's a black
lab.

PorkBreakdown: Yeah. That's him.
NameWithheld: OK. He's been hiding under the dining
room table all morning. Did you do something to him?

PorkBreakdown: Nothing unnatural, if that's what you
mean.
NameWithheld: Did you hurt Jack?
PorkBreakdown: Oh, God no. But he hurt me,
man. He hurt me BAD.
NameWithheld: Did he bite you?
PorkBreakdown: I wish.
NameWithheld: Do I want to know what happened?
PorkBreakdown: I think maybe as a safety precaution,
yes.
NameWithheld: OK.
PorkBreakdown: So
PorkBreakdown: Like I said, her pussy smells like
canteloupe.
NameWithheld: His.
PorkBreakdown: Whatever.
NameWithheld: Just so we're clear. I think it's an
important point.
PorkBreakdown: Anyway, don't put your mouth near it.
NameWithheld: You know what. Forget it. I
don't want to hear anymore.

PorkBreakdown: Just listen.
**NameWithheld has signed off**

At least there's nothing incriminating in McDougal's. I think the campaign is on pretty solid ground from here on out.

The Quotable McDougal (#3)

"I never owned a pet. I think if God wanted us to "own" other living creatures he'd have -- Oh wait. I've had some dogs. I guess those are pets. Oh, and a cat, and a bunch of fish. Oh, and some gerbils and whatnot. I freaking LOVE gerbils. They're cute, right? With those little tails. They're like little rats with wings."

The Dahmer ... err ... Dinner Party

There I was, just settling in to dinner with my new boss and his wife. We were sitting in a booth at one of those upscale steak houses. You know the kind of place I'm talking about -- Thirty five bucks for a steak, sides extra, lots of dark wood and leather, bla bla bla... Things were going well. I was nervous going in, but my boss and I had a couple of martinis before dinner and that really took the edge off. So I'm sitting there, enjoying the bit of a buzz I had on, listening to the soft music coming from the overhead speakers. It was some casual background piano-jazz. George Winston or maybe even the mellower side of Lionel Hampton. I think you know what I'm talking about. It was in that moment, when I was in my most relaxed state of the evening, that I heard it. It was the voice of the maitre 'd coming from the front of the restaurant...

"Yes Mr. McDougal, your table for 27 is ready. Right this way please."

My blood ran cold. Oh God, no ... Not here. Not now.

Now let me explain. McDougal and I are good friends. Great friends. The best. Hell, he saved my life back in the First Gulf War. He was nothing but understanding back in college when I knocked up his fourteen year old sister. But my boss ... My boss is a Square. He wouldn't dig McDougal's style. And I needed this job. More than I've ever needed a job in my life. It's not often that a guy with my checkered employment history gets the opportunity to bring in six figures.

My boss and his wife, meanwhile, continued on with the pleasant conversation. They didn't see any reason to be alarmed. Why would they? I, on the other hand, had already sweated right through my shirt and saddle bags were working their way through my jacket. I kept nodding my head and smiling as, out of the corner of my eye, I watched McDougal and his entourage work their way back to their table. It would only be a matter of time before the big man noticed me sitting here and rushed over to greet me, or maybe "introduce himself" to my boss's wife. Jesus ... Was that a dwarf? McDougal brought a dwarf to the steakhouse. If he had time to pick up that damn dwarf on the way over, it meant he had dipped into the loose pills before even getting into his limo.

McDougal was seated at the head of a long table immediately behind my boss and his wife, which meant that they couldn't see him, but I was afforded a clear line of sight. As he slowly lowered his massive frame into the groaning chair, his entourage gazed at him with a mixture of adoration and expectation. This was going to be bad. McDougal was planning on putting on a show that night, and they all knew it. McDougal ordered two bottles of wine for everyone at his table then reached into his pocket and pulled out one of those tin cans full of breathmints. Oh fuck. The mint can...

A couple of years ago, McDougal hit on the mint can idea. At the time, I thought it was brilliant. You could take a can of those mints, available at any drug store, and put a drop of high-octane LSD on each one. The Squares wouldn't think twice about a guy popping breath mints. At least, not until he opened up his umbrella to keep the ceiling from dripping on him. It worked too. No one in the restaurant gave it a second glance at McDougal passed it around his table.

The drugs took effect on the dwarf first, on account of his low body weight. He crawled up onto the table and stuffed a roll down his pants. Then he took off his shirt and began rubbing butter on his bare chest. It was much worse than I thought. McDougal must have run out of mints. Sometimes when he runs out of mints, he will drop the LSD onto tablets of ecstasy. I was hoping that a waiter would put an end to this, but the waitstaff just cowered against the wall, too intimidated by McDougal to act. Finally, one brave waiter ventured over.

"Ah, good," McDougal shouted jovially, "We've been trying to order forever!"

They hadn't even gotten menus yet.

McDougal's mood began to sour as the waiter continually shook his head, refusing to take his order to the chef. McDougal was attempting to order a bizarre litany of entrees. Endangered species, construction materials, inert gases, mythical creatures ... Finally he named something that seemed to ease the waiter's suffering. The poor waiter ran off to the kitchen, only to slink back moments later, obviously bearing bad news. By this time all conversation in the restaurant had ceased, so I was able to hear him clearly.

"I'm sorry sir... The chef says that he cannot serve you Long Pork."

McDougal sat for a moment, watching the dwarf, who was now standing on the table juggling several open wine bottles, which sprayed arcs of liquid across the restaurant. McDougal stood up slowly, then slammed his fists down onto the table, letting out an enraged bellow. This caused the dwarf to topple over and lose his grip on one of the bottles, which struck a nearby diner in the temple, knocking him unconscious. I took this opportunity to lean in and whisper to my boss.
"Maybe we should go..."

But the poor man was frozen with shock. I thought briefly of leaving without him, but if McDougal decided to kill everyone in the place (entirely possible) I might be the only person who could convince him to spare the lives of my boss and his wife. That would look really good on my quarterly evaluation. McDougal, meanwhile, attempting to prove some point to the terrified waiter, had unhinged his jaw, snakelike, and was busy swallowing a large silver centerpiece.

Unable to prove his point, McDougal finally pushed the waiter aside and marched into the kitchen. We regular restaurant patrons sat in horror as the most awful noises emanated from the kitchen for a full fifteen minutes. McDougal's entourage, without their hero to gaze upon, began engaging in various deviant sex acts on, under and around the table. Finally McDougal emerged from the kitchen.

"Come on," he roared to his minions, "we're out of here. These idiots know nothing of fine cuisine."

As McDougal marched out he glanced over and gave me the tiniest nod of recognition. I had no idea what to make of this until a few weeks later, when I ran into the big man at the grocery store.

"So... Uh, I saw you at the steak place the other day," I said, somewhat sheepishly.

"Oh yeah," he replied, "I would have come over and said hi, but those people you were with looked like real assholes. I was afraid they might want to sit with us and ruin my trip."

McDougal and I shared a good laugh over this. That night his Cambodian Death Squad killed my boss, his wife and the two Pomeranians she thought of as her children.

McDougal Saves Christmas (Final Chapter)

After dropping off the load of toys for the orphans McDougal topped off the reindeer with mescaline and absinthe and we rocketed off into the cold December air. We continued on Santa Claus's rounds, supplementing the toys with BB guns, slingshots, liquor, cigarettes, pornographic magazines, small animal traps and anything else that caught McDougal's eye. Entering the homes became a bit of a problem. McDougal made a valiant effort at sliding down chimneys, but he just didn't have a knack for it. After trying several other tactics we finally decided on simply kicking doors in and tossing the toys inside. Guard dogs were a problem. McDougal knows a highly effective canine sleeper hold, but this takes a few minutes even when the dog does not struggle, which is rarely the case. For expediency's sake many of the dogs (and one medical helper monkey) had to be dispatched using McDougal's silenced 9mm handgun. We left a few extra presents at these houses.

When we finished with Europe McDougal swung the Landrover south, landing in a small village in Afghanistan.

"McDougal, I don't think they celebrate..."

But before I could finish, the big man was out of the truck like a shot.

"This will only take a minute," he yelled over his shoulder as he disappeared into the darkness.

McDougal returned a short time later clutching an armload of tightly wrapped bundles.

"Had to finish my Christmas shopping," he explained. "This place has the best hash."

Once again we flew off into the night. I assume that Santa Claus follows some type of orderly pattern when he makes his annual rounds. McDougal did nothing of the sort. We zigzagged across the globe, collecting nearly as much stuff as we gave out. In Columbia we picked up a bale of uncut cocaine. In Zimbabwe we picked up ivory and rhinoceros horns. In Baghdad we picked up a solid gold AK-47 that had "Uday" engraved on the side. In the Philippines McDougal picked up a pair of champion fighting cocks, and I picked up a particularly virulent case of gonorhea.

As we walked back to the Landrover McDougal looked at his watch.

"Fucking hell! We've got to pick up the pace! We'll head to the United States next, get that finished up."

"Once we get there can you just drop me off at my apartment?" I asked. "I'm tired, hung over and my cock is on fire. I don't think I can handle any more of this."

"Nonsense," McDougal roared, "you've just run out of Christmas Spirit!"

He flipped me another capsule. That was really the last thing I needed at that point, but I was suffering so much that unconsciousness did seem pretty appealing. I swallowed it down and waited for the freakout to set in. As my vision started to fade, slumped in the Landrover's passenger seat, I heard McDougal say "this ought to speed things up." I watched him reach into the back, remove one of the air rifles and take careful aim at the hindquarters of one of the lead reindeer, either Dasher or Dancer I guess. I buckled my seatbelt. McDougal's voice, seeming to be coming from very far away, "But I guess if you really want to be dropped off I can work something out..." That oppressive coldness in my chest. The snap of an air rifle and the Landrover giving a sickeningly violent upward jerk. Sleigh bells... Sugarplums...

A cold concrete floor and the smell of urine. A voice barking at me in Arabic. I don't speak Arabic. A large hand dangled a Ziploc bag full of red and green capsules in my face. More Arabic. Then a kick in the ribs. I coughed up a bit of blood, but my vision cleared a bit too. Thank Allah for small miracles. I was in a cage. No, a cell. That bastard McDougal was nowhere to be seen. But there was that Egyptian prison guard waving the bag of capsules, screaming at me now, still in Arabic. A second guard swam into view. He leaned in close and said quietly in thickly accented English, "He says 'Are these your pills?' You should answer. You are in big trouble sir."

The Contents of McDougal's Hall Closet

Got a request from an unnameable source (DOHS) to get a rundown of McD's hall closet.

  • shoebox containing 14 "Juggs" magazines
  • die-cast metal model of a 2003 Dodge Dakota with the words "I Hate Martin Luther King" written on it in lipstick
  • the Koran
  • one nest of pleistocene small mammals, kind of look like those meer cats made popular by Disney's "The Lion King"
  • American flag jumpsuit (stained)

in order to get this I had to dress as a DSL repairman and schedule an appointment to "upgrade his porn pipe". I called on the McDougal residence at around 4pm this afternoon, and was promptly shoved into a hole in his backyard. I protested, showed him my (falsified) credentials from SBC Yahoo! and demanded that he A. dig me up and B. take the hose off my face. He gave me neither, but did actually feed me a delicious dinner of Tri Tip and corn on the cob, creme brule for dessert. So I was in that hole for two days (which means yes, I am typing this in the future, but lay off, fuckwad, it's Daylight Savings).

Saturday morning he pulls me out of the hole and tells me to get moving. I play it like nothing is up, and go in his closet and shut the door. I am frantically trying to get digital images of the contents of his closet and I'm covered in sweat, when I hear what sounds like McD killing a dachsund. I'm like oh shit and get about 20 or so shots of the closet, pull a few samples of the mammals and jack to the Juggs, when curiosity gets the better of me and I peek out to see what he's up to.

Damned if I don't look out and see him eating Tom Ridge's arm and playing "Othello" with one of the ladies from Nanny 911. They invite me to smoke some crack and I end up of course doing the Nanny, then McDougal takes my carefully hidden list and rips it to shreds.

"The DOHS won't be needing that list, Devon, because I'm running that bitch now."

And I'll be goddamned if he wasn't.

Science and the Discovery of Self

Found this while sorting through McDougal's "keepsake" box at his mom's place a few weeks ago..

Science and the Discovery of Self
By James McDougal (Age 9)

"Pasta, Jim. It's pasta."

What the hell did she know? They're fucking "Wagon Wheels." Says so right on the box. I have my doubts about these mushy, sauce-covered 3/4 inch noodlous concoctions' ability to support the carriage through the rough terrain of the American West.

Let me back up a bit. "She" is my sister the chiropodist. "I" am an explorer along the lines of Messrs. Lewis and Clarke. In an era when there is little left to explore (what with the highways, horse trails, and satellite imagery), my job is rather daunting. I do not face the same dangers as 18th century explorers. Mine are primarily financial and/or based on my limited comprehension of the world around me.

I remember a man in the old neighborhood. We used to call him "Mr. Sweet Daddy No Pants." He was a colorful squat man with a red nose and rosey cheeks. I remember a steady stream of water spewing forth from his scalp.

"That was a lawn toy, Jim. It was a lawn toy that you hooked to the garden hose. And you were the only one who called him Mr. Sweet Daddy No Pants. I believe everyone else called it by its correct name: Mr. Bobbles, the Wet and Wacky Lawn Clown."

My sister is a pragmatist. Earlier I said "Chiropodist." I got those words confused. She is not currently employed. Very practical though.

"I forbid you to set out on this assinine journey."

I am her elder. Rule of law suggests she cannot issue edicts of that nature. And if she does, I am in no way obligated to follow them. She is just making noise - like a busted leaf blower.

"I am off to explore the American West with my trusty pack mule pulling this handcrafted wagon, which contains all necessary food rations, scientific gear, and advanced weaponry I will need on my journey."

"You haven't a pack mule, Jim. That's Scraps the dog, and he's not yours. He belongs to Mrs. Kellerman of Hertzel Avenue. Should you make it out of the neighborhood, she will assuredly call the police to report a criminal dognapping."

"We all make sacrifices in the name of science," I reminder her. Her name is Peggy.

"You're absolutely mad," Peggy said, throwing her head back in mock disdain.

"I am not so mad that I do not see the manner in which you've chosen to assault me," I noted. "Rather than evaluate my scientific quest with an impartial eye, or attack some readily apparent physical or character flaw, you've chosen to set science back three decades with four simple words - two of which contracted to form one word, but did not eliminate the essence of the true word count, which shall remain four."

"I'm calling father," she insisted.

"So be it," I said. "I'm sure even the honorable Thomas Edison had his detractors. I am departing now, regardless."

"That's it. I'm calling father immediately."

"Very well," I said. "I'll write when I make land west of the Mississippi."

"You won't make land west of the front lawn."

"I'm leaving now."

"You haven't pants about you," she said.

"Scientists needn't pants. Think of the Greek thinker who streaked naked and wet through the streets of Athens shrieking Eureka at the discovery of displacement."

"I don't know of whom you are speaking."

"Science needn't pants."

"Science need only the ability for rational thought," she sighed. "What do you hope to achieve with this absurd quest?"

"Discovery, exploration, peace, and knowledge," I said. "The goals of all scientists."

"You're out of your over-sized lithium-imbalanced gourd. I have father on the phone now."

"MUSH!" I commanded Scraps.

"Father wishes to speak to you," Peggy said, handing me the phone.

Sadly, I was not able to take the call at that moment. Scraps had turned upon me and swarmed about my face like a demon sent straight from Hades to evicerate my immortal soul. When I tightened the reigns, instead of plodding forward as expected, he turned on me and bit me several times on the face. I swatted furiously at him, but he would not be dissuaded.

"Take a message, Peg. I've demons about me."

I finally managed to subdue the evil beast with a combination of left and right hooks to the beast's frothing mouth.

"Father says you're not to leave the yard."

Scraps ate my wagon wheels and was chewing through the leather straps I'd placed upon him.

"Very well," I said. "Bring me the lawn clown. I shall disect him and study his innards in the name of science."

"You haven't a scalpel."

"Then I shall use an incisor wrenched from the mouth of this devil dog. Bring me the God damned lawn clown!" I am a patient man, but when it comes to practical study, I have my limits. Peg should have known not to cross me on that front.

When father returned, Mr. Sweet Daddy No Pants had been successfully autopsied, photographed, and catalogued. I was in the process of re-assembling him per the manufacturer's specifications. A representative from the manufacturer guided me through the process via the telephone.

"Terminate your conversation immediately, James," father commanded. "The mission has changed."

I hung up the telephone without so much as a polite "fare the well." When one is at the mercy of generous benefactors, he is unable to achieve true freedom. Being a mere nine years old, I find myself in such a situation. As such, my research is routinely and unnecessarily hampered by the limitations of my progenitor's conceptual understanding of scientific study. I shall soon apply
for a grant or perhaps for emancipation from my family so that I may be free of familial shackels.

"What study I now, father?"

"Study your rear end in the wood shed, fashioning a switch with which I might punish you."

"Yes, father."

As the repeated lashes rained down upon my uncloaked posterior, I thought of Sir James Chadwick, who discovered the neutron some years ago, and I wondered if he faced similar obstacles to his search for fundamental scientific truths. And then it occurred to me. I was not taking these lashes just as one man. In a Jungian moment of truth, I realized my father was lashing out at scientific discovery through the ages. I was taking lumps for Fermi, Einstein, Oppenheimer, Newton, and all the greats upon whose shoulders I stood.

You may knock off the top of the tower, father. But the foundation is impenetrable.

Flat Feet

I met McDougal when he was on recruiting duty in Jackson, TN.

I was going to be a Marine until McDougal broke every bone in each of my feet with a stuffed miniature schnauzer, then gouged out my eyes with an ivory Buddha paperweight, and crushed my larynx with a trowl.

Eleven months later, when I was released from the hospital, McDougal greeted me in the foyer.

When I asked him why he'd done that, he just laughed and laughed and laughed for a long time.

When he was done laughing, he stabbed my dad in the cheek and bit my sister on her stomach.

I was going to be mad until we found out my sister had a bleeding ulcer and McDougal had saved her life.

"Lacey," he told me (though my name's Jim), "There are friends you meet and know for a short time, and some you know for a lifetime. Other's you know at the right time."

That was the last time I saw McDougal.

Agolo-kuluk Lak-shini-tuk Et-kat Mats-jaro-alik

In case you were wondering, one day I opened my car trunk to find McDougal humping a Rally's short order cook and her peek-a-poo. I had a job interview in ten minutes, so I yelled at the D and slammed my trunk, inadvertantly getting the peek-a-poo's neck caught in the trunk latch and spraying tiny-dog blood all over my suit. This infuriated me, and it didn't help that I heard a muffled mix of the Rally's girl climaxing and McDougal laughing at me from inside the car. I said fuck it to the job interview, turned and walked south-southeast, and never had another job after that day.

A few days into the walk, McDougal comes puffing up behind me. I don't mean puffing like he was sorry and had run to catch up and make things right between us, get me that job, and let me do the Rally's girl, I mean puffing like taking massive hits off an ice bong packed with Afghani Hashish while sitting in a chariot made of dolphin bones and old 386 motherboards. Two eskimos held the chariot aloft, and they in turn sat atop two surprisingly fast walruses.

"Fine day for walking," he mused, and pulled out a deck of cards. One of the Eskimos kind of staggered and started to fall. In one lightning fast move McDougal beheaded him, chained the Eskimo's second-born son to the falling handle of the chariot, buried the Eskimo's remains in his homeland, sang a moving dirge in his native Anuit language that brought everyone (myself included, I'm not ashamed to admit) to tears of bittersweet joy, and dealt me five cards: three down, two up.

I took a look at my cards and felt my chest tighten. I had 1 ace down and an ace and a queen showing. The other three cards were a yellow 5 and a blue Skip from a deck of Uno cards and the instructions for an altimeter. I knew I was sunk. McDougal laughed the same laugh that had hit me so hard back at my car trunk, and I hopped up on the Eskimo chariot and took a nap against his big strong arm.

Long story short, we captured the entire White Army of early 1900s Prussia, the Rally's girl had a baby nine months later named Tom Cruise, and I of course forgave McDougal completely.

Dead as a Doornail

That reminds me, there was a day last year McDougal showed up at my door with three whores and a dog, all tied together and slathered in mucus. I said, "Hey it's McDougal," which of course was a mistake and he murdered me right there. Dead as can be.

So there I am, dead, with McDougal on my porch with his mucus-whore-dog. He's completely drunk, racked out on meth and Dimetapp, and he's got some sort of wireless television strapped to the top of his head. I think you can see where this is going.

So he carries us all in, me the whores, and the dog. Apparently, and I never knew this, he had built an underground laboratory under my house sometime in the late 60s, and he took us all down there and strapped us into some kind of whirling lightning bolt. One month later I'm opening my eyes and seeing the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. That's right, old McDougal had brought me back to life as a Jimi Hendrix exhibit, complete with black skin and an acid bandana. There I was getting my picture taken all day long with families and old hippies, with McDougal just laughing and laughing. Goddamn him to hell, is what I said.

Ha! You're not the only one he's done that to. Remember Murray from A/P? That bastard's living out his days as a Pteranodon's assbone in the Natural History Museum.

I think McDougal's put shit under all of our houses. His own little subterranean empire is what he's got going.

This spring, my youngest boy was playing under the house, looking for spiders and vipers and shit, when he comes upon this trap door. Naturally, he opens it up and goes in. He ain't got a flashlight or nothing. Just goes on in.

Turns out, McDougal'd opened up a portal to hell right there under the master bath. And he'd rerouted our sewage to drain right down in there. So the boy goes to hell through a tunnel of shit.

He shows up stinking to high heaven, and they mistake him for the cable guy.

The devil says to him, "Son, we can't get the Starz channel."

Of course, the boy don't know shit about cable. So he says, "We get it just fine. Why don't ya'll come up to my place and we can watch it there."

So, I get home from a long day at the office, and what do I find? My boy, the devil, and six billion angry souls watching "Iron Eagle II" in my living room. Everyone one of 'em stinkin' like shit and lounging all over my furniture.

So I send the boy to his room and try to run out the devil and all the damned souls.

That's when the devil says he'll go, but he's takin' my soul with him.

So he takes my soul back under the house and straight to hell. Leaves me standing right there a soulless shell of a man waiting for the Nightly News with Bryan Williams.

So it comes on and wouldn't you know it ...

Lead story is about McDougal setting fire to a government-subsidized housing project, then singlehandedly going in and rescuing all the occupants. They were going to press charges, but McDougal had already built them a brand new luxury high rise with 300 fully furnished units and moved them into it that day.

Needless to say, I forgot about my petty problems and poured myself a tumbler of Jack and had one to McDougal.
